About
Andrew Moorhead is a polymathic writer and performer from Piedmont, California, now based in New York City. He is a social satirist, science communicator, historical researcher, and reluctant actor – writing across a multitude of mediums and genres, with his roots firmly in the theater.
His work for theater includes This Purple F***ing Pot (Off Broadway, The Tank), Bravo (Spotify; Azusa Pacific University; Ball State University; Winner: NMI’s Search For New Musicals), The Colonialists (play/ground theatre; NYU), Loaded Questions (The Sherry Theater), and Nothing Happens… (Berkeley Repertory Teen One Act Festival). He is currently developing the TV drama Fantasy Slut League.
Andrew was last seen on stage as Robot 1 in Loneliness Was A Pandemic at TheaterLab. He writes and produces science-based comedy through the creative agency, Hello SciCom. He has written for Paris Fashion Week, the United Nations, North Carolina congressional candidate Kate Barr, Savvas Publishing, Honda Research Institute, Nautilus Magazine, Hanson Robotics, and an entertainment venue in Las Vegas.
He received his BFA from Chapman University, where he currently teaches playwriting, and his MFA from New York University, where he is currently an admissions advisor. Once upon a time, he performed bird calls on The Late Show with David Letterman.
Up next: Andrew is the co-editor of the posthumous memoir, The Unconquerable Game, to be published by Callaway in March of 2025.
In case it wasn’t clear, Andrew would like to announce that he really needs a nap.
